The Underpass
Sublocation inside Belirand
The terrain appears inviting to the naked eye... surely travelling across the desert in the shield of cool caverns would prove most useful, yes? One traveling through these caverns, however, might feel differently. The tunnels twist and turn, and often double back on themselves. Up there, above the caverns, you’re likely to see your threat coming- the wide and open desert offers clarity despite it’s deadly heat. This offers you an upper hand to be prepared. Down here, however, the caves hold no mercy to its visitors. Danger could and will lurk around most every corner you turn. The characters that explore these caverns are not at all welcoming and would stab you in the back the first chance they had. Don’t take it personal, its survival of the fittest and only the strong survive in these parts. It takes Renkei being extremely selfish and self centered to successfully live or benefit from these parts, the forgiving are easy pickin’. The cave will frequently go from frigid temperatures to the peak heat of the desert, and its age shows as random sinkholes appear, rocks falling down the face of the walls you rely on not to crush you. The plunder down here is worth the risk, but only the bravest of Kikumoria dare explore its threat. It smells damp, and the air down here is thin, making it easy for Renkei to hallucinate or even become disorientated. It's night down here.. all of the time, bar the glowing crystals you might stumble upon from turn to turn, best to bring your own light source, but just know nothing bright resides in these parts. And the creatures.. Well, you’ll see..
